Oh Pah-lease!
For about a month I used to train to get from Herzlia to Rehovot. Guess what I found? It's quicker AND cheaper to go by car: Car: 45min to 1:15 hours. Train: home to station: 10-20min (more if I had used bike), Herzlia-Rehovot: 45-50 minutes, station to institute (conviniently located next to the station): 10 minutes. brining us to a whopping 1:05-1:20 hours. And the price? Don't even get me started! And, if I may, I don't cause a single dead person by driving. At least - I haven't so far. Not once. Not even slightly maimed. Not even a mild shock. Nothing. DO ME A FAVOR. If I would be allowed the paraphrase - cars don't kill. People do. While I'm at it - I'll add that I used to ride my bike to school everyday back when I had to go to school. It was hell during summer, it was bloody impossible during winter, and had I been at all sensitive to the desperate plights of the girls sitting around me in class, I'd have stopped it immidiately. Here in canada, or in Germany, where I was three weeks ago - it's all fine and swell, but Israel simply wasn't built for bikes. Is all. |
