Like many leftists, you are missing the point of the Saudi proposal. You will note that the Arab nations are again not asked to accept their responsibility to the refugee problem, and that in essence, they agree that they will not have to take the "refugees" in, even though most of those "refugees" are people who were born there, never saw the places they wish to "return" to, and are refused basic civil rights, due to the Arab countries` refusal to accept them as citizens. Naturally, the Arab nations don't talk about the original Jewish refugees, which _outnumbered_ the original Arab refugees, were all _actively_ deported by the Arab nations, and whose property was confiscated by the Arab regimes of that time.
As for Sharon's actions standing in contrast to the Saudi proposal, I would like to remind you that the Saudi proposal was not officially presented to Israel at all. It's hard to refect something that isn't proposed to you.
