Okay, I'm going to make this very clear. My original message to Mr. Meshulam was referring to the tendency of people with scientific knowledge in a specific field to assume that they are experts in every field of science, philosophy, and animal husbandry. The patronizing tone was originally Mr. Meshulam's.
I never claimed to be any big hot-shot in anything. I am merely an Undergraduate in Computer Science, just like millions of people all around the world. I haven't even published any papers yet, and there is only one reference to my work in one specific conference paper draft, and there my work is shown as an example of the how cumbersome it is to reference code in Java. Imagine my embarassment.
Great. Good for you that you have a Master's in Physics, and are close to concluding your Doctorate. Physics is quite an interesting subject, which I hope some day to acquaint myself more with. I'm sure it's been hard work. That, specifically, doesn't make you an authority on the philosophy of science, or on biology, or whichever. It does make you an authority in Physics and in basic scientific methods.
I, for one, am not an authority on anything special at all, as far as I know.
Agreed?
