If you think that any foreign worker is an illegal immigrant, why not send them to prison immediately when they arrive to Israel.
Maybe even send them to prison in China and save the flight ticket... If Israel does not want to treat workers as human beings then it can choose not to import workers at all. As people say, the comparison with H1 visa in the U.S is nonsensical, since this is a visa for highly skilled workers, and one of the conditions of getting such a visa is that their salary will be as least as large as the market salary for that profession. However, the biggest difference is that in the U.S everybody that was born on US land, no matter if their parents were there legally or illegaly, is a US citizen. This seemed to me stupid at first, but now I think that this is one important factor in why immigration has a success story in the US, as opposed to Europe (unfortunately Israel seems to be following Europe in this regard) |
