I'm surprised at the linkage between the Mayan and Incan cultures, which I believe existed in separate geographical areas, but will do further checking.
Also, while Mayan culture was, indeed, very advanced in astrology, mathematics and other fields (so were the Incans) I don't believe they were monotheistic (nor do I see an evident connection between monotheism and progress).
But, yes, the Mayan buildings and the Egyptian pyramids do resemble each other. There may have been a migration of people which led to a migration of ideas, but the geographical distance makes it somewhat difficult to establish.
I'll ask around and come back.
