actually, i think the editors are doing a pretty good job. i would hate to think that although the terms of publication are very clear (an article needs to be original, good and not published anywhere else prior to the Ayal publication), writers can not be trusted. nevertheless, it is the reader base of this site that often catches those articles, which is much like peer review (although post factum).
and of course i'll again point at the case of the "great train robbery" article.
