I think this is a major discovery that may help in finally attaining the "golden grail" ;that is finding a cure or immuning against this virus.
The fact that we can recognize or filter infected cells (sperm cells in this case) from healthy cells is already a major achievment. Moreover if it is established that the virus can't penetrate sperm cells themselves but can only catch a "piggyback ride" on them then this is very intriguing and may lead to the development of an immune that will give other cells in our body the same kind of quality therefore not allowing the virus to reproduce.
