I don't mind answering any questions. I have nothing to hide.
-I am bilingual - I have both Hebrew and English as mother tongues. Or so it seems to me, in any case. I speak and write in both quite fluently.
-I had lived in the US on two occasions: for the three or so years right after I was born, and for a year on my parents` Sabbatical.
-My style in both languages is a tad incompatible, I think. This stems from my spending more time speaking Hebrew than speaking English - society seems to look down upon too lofty a vocabulary, so one's linguistic quality tends to degrade in time. Mine did, in any case, to my opinion. I enjoy the ability to express myself in a dialect to my choosing.

Your English tends, or at least aspires to be more English the American - is this a conscious decision?

The sound of English-English usage, sentence construct, as well as mannerism strikes me as quit odd, at time. Your tendency to use understatement and to qualify you opinion also has that very English aroma.

A small request, can you substitute "tad" with "bit" from time to time?

I think it is more of a subconscious decision, stemming from watching far too much British comedy, and reading too much Terry Pratchett.
