One thing I just can't seem to understand- do you think that Americans who live abroad wonder what to say when someone asks them about the situation in Iraq? Why do we have this responsibility towards Israel? I'm currently living in Paris, and when someone asks me how could I be 19 and in Paris I proudly say that I refused to recruit to the Israely army. I don't believe that I am any kind of embassador- I am an individual, and as one- I have my own opinions. When I speak with my friends (who are not israely) about politics I have my left wing opinion, and so they learn that not everyone in Israel think like the government does. Now, that's democracy. And when they ask me about Israel I tell them everything that's wonderful in it- Tel Aviv's nightlife, music, poetry, literature. Isn't that more important than politics?!?
