Since this online newspaper is read
primarily by young well-educated
Israelis, I would like to devote this
comment for them:
I argee with the analysis about the
danger of the continuous population
growth.

However, concluding that each one of us
should reduce the number of kids he
brings to the world might be incorrect.
We have to remember that population
growth rates differ from society to
society.
In 1930 there were 2 billion people on
Earth - one billion resonably educated,
and one billion poor and stupid.

Today we have 6 billion people - one
billion (still) reasonably educated and
5 billion idiots.

Two hundred years ago, a musician who
wanted to make money wrote elitistic
music - because the rich could pay him to
perform. Today - rock stars make money
if they adjust their music to the taste
of the masses - and the masses are those
billions of idiots.

So on the one hand each one of us wants
to contribute to the reduction of the
growing population - by bringing few
children or none to the world.

But on the other hand we have to keep in
mind the following: Readers of "Haayal"
belong to a very very small portion of
mankind: smart, educated, secular,
ethnically Jewish. There are so few of
them left. Especially after the recent
Holocaust.

Earth human population grows about 100
millions every year - 90% percent of them
idiots; another couple of thousands or
tens of thousands of high quality young
Israelis are insignificant in this
matter, but each one of them is very very
valuable for saving the small population
of quality moral people from complete
extinction.

And believe me - no one can create these
quality kids but quality parent-to-be
like you.

Conclusion - Well educated young Israelis
should increase the number of children
they bring to the world. The
contribution of these few good kids to
human society is likely to exceed their
burden on the environment.
