David Grossman is indeed represents the Israeli “left”. In his whole speech he never critics the war in Lebanon for the slaughter of more then a thousands civilians in a collective punishment, his only problem with the war is with military strategies. His praises of Rabin, again, are about how “he really did not like the Palestinians” but understand that living under fear and terror is bad (for the Jews not for the Palestinians). He never stops to mention that he himself supported the war in its first weeks. Is this is the Israeli “left”? a “left” that does not care about civilians, or the hundred of bomb that were left in Lebanon that are still killing people? What kind of a “left” criticize a war that was intended from the first day to be a collective punishment only when its not manage well enough? Only when Israeli soldiers die?

Your army is not what it used to be. The Israeli middle class have abounded slogans like “its good to die for our country”, and instead is dreaming about high-tack and a nice big house. Unlike the Palestinian they do have a lot to lose, and this why your army lost the war.

I never said that those countries are communist in the same way that Egypt or turkey are not democratic.
