I'm afraid that you do not understand the situation and reality that we are living under. First of all, we should clear up the misguided notion that "simply making connections" lies within neutral ground. There are no such things as unbiased "connections"…we must seek to understand the motives of the authors/researchers with respect to why they use certain methods to examine things, why they choose to examine the things they do, and from what socioeconomic background they are conducting their research methods. Speaking from a place of white, male, upper-middle class privilege when making the "simple connection" that crime rates drop when women of color have abortions, is a loaded and highly charged statement at best…in fact, as I stated before, it's downright racist. Secondly, it's simply incorrect that women of all socioeconomic backgrounds have the same access to abortion. In most middle-American states, clinics are sparse, which may require travel expenses if a woman needs to obtain a procedure, and furthermore, abortion procedures are not paid for by Medicaid in all states, which would entail a woman needing to pay out of pocket (which can run over $300 at the least).
