In any case, the software he pushes doesn't show the kind of algorithmical maturity that one hopefully gets from a formal Software Engineering, or even Computer Science education.

He didn't write PC-DOS/MS-DOS. He _bought_ an operating system called QDOS, Quick and Dirty Operating System, made some improvements, and then sold it to IBM. As for "adopting the look and feel of unix," that's not new. Many of the newer Disk Operating Systems for various computers were command line. And quite a few operating systems before that. You honestly should look into some computer history.

On another note, Windows continuously suffered, until 2000 perhaps, though I've not checked that out, from operating system failures that Unix had been rid of ages ago.

No, no, no... I was not bragging.. though I may have the ability to do what you referred to, this was not my intention... I mean, you mustn't look at the difficulty of things from your perspective.. you have to compare computer people with other computer people, not yourself. Just like I don't compare philosophers with myself, they are way out of my league.

They most certainly didn't, but they were of the first companies to write software for the Mac OS. I think.
